Claire Goldsmith

For four generations the Goldsmith family have been creating incredible eyewear that has pushed the boundaries of expectation, self expression and individuality. Claire Goldsmith is the great grand-daughter of Oliver Goldsmith, one of the most influential designers and creators of modern day eyewear and the man who once dressed the eyes of iconic fashionistas such as Audrey Hepburn and Michael Caine. She also makes some of the world’s most sophisticated and beautifully designed sunglasses and spectacles. For Claire, it’s been a natural progression from working with Oliver Goldsmith’s incredible archive of vintage frames, to wanting to launch new collections of both sun and optical designs.

Claire Goldsmith designs are very much inspired by British history and heritage, taking concepts from the past and carefully applying them today to achieve an unmistakable British aesthetic. As with Oliver Goldsmith’s line, Claire Goldsmith is created exclusively by skilled craftsmen, some of whom have made frames in England their whole lives. Her Italian craftsmen draw on the heritage that literally created eyewear with flair, while her Japanese craftsmen leverage technology in manufacturing, and those in Germany contribute precision and excellence.
